The Robot Fighting League, or RFL, was started in 2002. Its purpose was to promote the sport of fighting robots, provide consistency between events, and support the builder and event organizers in general. Probably the biggest single benefit to the RFL was the use of a standardized rule set, available here. Would you expect to be successful at anything without understanding the rules? You might want to read them!

The RFL forum on Delphi has become the default location for builders and enthusiasts from around the world to participate in discussions concerning the sport. There is an amazing amount of material here, going back many years, and if you have a question about combat robotics you will most likely find your answers here. It is also where many builders post progress reports, giving you the chance to inspect other builders machines. I read this forum every day.

Although there are many competitions for combat robotics, none surpass Robogames in size and level of competition. This annual event is held in the San Francisco bay area, and competitors from around the world come to compete with the best. This site also has lots of information and links to pictures and video.

NPC Robotics has been a supplier to the robotic community from the beginning, providing simple and effective off-the-shelf solutions to meet our unique power train needs. NPC Robotics is also an official sponsor of Team Hardcore, and all of my larger combat machines run on NPC drive motors.

Servo Magazine has a monthly section featuring combat related robotics - The Combat Zone! I have been fortunate enough to be featured numerous times in this fine magazine, and many of today's top builders supply informative "how to" articles, as well as event reports. Support them if you can, since they have done so much to support the combat robotic sport over the years.

Terry at Team Whyachi has probably brought more unique solutions to the combat robotic sport than just about anyone else out there. From power switches and custom gearboxes, to spinning weapons and shells, if you have a specific need they can probably come up with a solution.
